About ADEA

Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA) is Australia’s leading organisation for diabetes care and education. The mission of ADEA is to support and empower its members for best practice, person-centred diabetes education and care through events, resources and learnings. ADEA (alongside the Australian Diabetes Society) organises the annual Australasian Diabetes Congress – the biggest diabetes scientific event in southern hemisphere.

24/7 access to ADEA learning management system containing online resources to enable healthcare professionals to enhance skills in delivering diabetes care and education. This library is updated with new content every month based on new developments in diabetes management. It includes:

Certification from ADEA
International Associate Members receive online certificates with CPD points upon completion of e-learning modules. Some of the topics covered include:
  • Supporting diabetes self-management
  • Pathophysiology and diagnosis
  • Glucose monitoring – new technology and devices
  • Oral glucose lowering medication
  • Injectable therapies – insulin and glucagon like peptide receptor agonists)
  • Lifestyle factors – nutrition, exercise and weight management

Australasian Diabetes Congress

International Associate Members can access recordings of selected sessions of the annual Australasian Diabetes Congress. This is the premier clinical and scientific meeting in diabetes in the southern hemisphere, attracting more than 1600 delegates from around the region. It features latest research and offer new insights into clinical practice.

  • Online portal for registration of doctors.
  • Organise login details and send to each doctor via e-mail/SMS.

ACTIVITY

  • Provide report to Corporate team on enrolment.
  • Send e-mail/SMS reminders to doctors on available content, certificate modules and new content added.
  • Trouble shooting and support.

Post-ACTIVITY

  • Organise online certificates for completed modules, issued by ADEA.
  • Full completion report to Corporate
  • Action on the feedback and reviews collected
